在日常生活中，我们见过许多物体都是圆柱形的。这些圆柱形的物体具有以下几个方面的优点：

一是用同样多的材料制成圆柱形容器，往往比制成其他形状的容器容量要大（也就是做成圆柱形状比较节省材料）。

二是圆柱形的容器或管道，坚固不易变形，圆柱形的管道埋在地下，可以承受较大的压力。

三是圆柱形的容器从外形上看起来比较美观。
